Our Story

Behind the squares

Square Society began in 2017 with a simple idea: to create a place where owners of square cars could come together without judgement.

After being part of a single-model owners club, our founder wanted something less restrictive — a community that wasn't limited to one make, one model or the same handful of events each year.

So Square Society opened the doors to anything square.

Nissan Cubes soon found themselves alongside Toyota bBs, Honda Stepwgns, Daihatsu Materias, kei cars and countless other wonderfully boxy machines. While Japanese cars make up a big part of our community, we've never been exclusively JDM. If it's square and a little different, there's probably a place for it here.

What started as an idea to bring like-minded owners together has grown into a UK-wide community — attending events across the country, building friendships and celebrating the cars that don't always fit neatly into the usual car scene.

Ten years later, that original idea hasn't changed.

Whether it's standard or modified, pristine or a work in progress, every square has a place here. We're not limited by one make, model or scene; we're brought together by an appreciation for cars that do things a little differently.

From club stands and events across the UK to the friendships made along the way, community has always been at the heart of Square Society.

We celebrate the cars that stand out, the builds that reflect their owners and the people who aren't afraid to do things a little differently. Whether your square is completely standard, heavily modified or somewhere in between, you don't need to follow the crowd to belong here.

For us, being square has never been about fitting into a box.

It's about being proud to stand out from it.

Over the years, Square Society has grown beyond club stands and events into an identity of its own.

From our Club Icons collections celebrating the cars within our community, to exclusive merchandise, collaborations and projects with others in the scene, everything we create carries the same idea that started Square Society in 2017 — celebrating something different.

It's a way for our members to represent the community, whether they're at an event, behind the wheel or simply proud to be part of something square.
